Katia Sycara is a research professor in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and holds the Sixth Century Chair (part time) in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen in the U.K. She is also the director of the Laboratory for Agents Technology and Semantic Web Technologies at CMU. She holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of the Aegean (2004).
